A true cavalcade of trouble makes for the delight of the comedy “Noises Off”, scheduled at the German State Theatre Timisoara (GSTT), on Saturday, the 24^th of June 2017, at 19:30 o’clock. The farce - now directed by Wolf E. Rahlfs, from Germany - brought British playwright Michael Frayn the lengthiest success. About this performance, theatre critic Mircea Morariu declared the following: “The scenic mechanism functions with German rigor, French champagne foam and the modern expressionism accustomed on Broadway.”
The performance “The Ugly Man” by Marius von Mayenburg, scheduled for Wednesday, the 14^th of June 2017, at 19:30, speaks of today’s beauty ideals with humour. The main character, Lette, employee of a corporation, is discriminated against because of his ugliness. After even his wife refuses to see him anymore, he decides to undergo plastic surgery, unbeknownst of the consequences of this action.
With four UNITER laureates in the cast, the performance “The Misunderstanding” – that is to take place on Friday, the 16^th of June 2017, at 19:30 o’clock – is one of the most appreciated and enduring productions of the GSTT, being presented successfully on tours as well as at festivals. Under Bocsárdi László direction you get this rare and profound scenic discourse over one of Albert Camus fundamental creations about the fallout of a … misunderstanding. Special guest in the performance is actor Sorin Leoveanu.
The performance “Actually, it’s beautiful” of Austrian actor and director Volker Schmidt will be held on Tuesday, the 20^th of June 2017, at 19:30. The show talks about the reality of people today: people around 30 years old, well trained, very present on socializing networks, people that go from one temporary job to the next, that are always on the road and live in semi-furnished houses. Where is the limit between virtual and reality? What do you do when you realize that behind the banality of a Facebook profile, hides the drama of not having found the right relationship?
The shows will be played in the Hall of the German State Theatre and features subtitles in Romanian.
